Photo 20: Café the Bosbaan in the Amsterdamse Bos

The Bosbaan is an international rowing course of more than 2 km in length and 118 meters wide. The Amsterdamse Bos was built in the thirties and forties of the last century. It was an employment project. Heavy work because most of the work was done by hand, including digging the rowing course. The Amsterdamse Bos was a job creation project started by the government after the crisis in the 1930s when unemployment was high. During World War II labour camps were set up for Jewish and non-Jewish prisoners. More information: https://www.amsterdamsebos.nl/english/

Question 4: For which sports other than rowing is the Bosbaan used?
