10. From Nederhoven to Kalfjeslaan
Walk all the way out of Nederhoven and turn left at the end. Walk along the walking path and pass the fences. Then immediately right to the bridge (photo 11). After the bridge immediately turn left and take the footpath. You enter the Ecolint. Walk down the footpath until the bend.

In the urban area of Amsterdam the Ecolint (Eco-ribbon) has been developed as an ecological connection in urban areas. This Ecolint connects the Amsterdamse Bos with the agricultural area and parks along river Amstel. The design of the Ecolint is tailored to the animals that live here such as the pike, weasel, small carakite and shore libel. A pest is the crayfish that occurs here in too large numbers. During the construction of the Ecolint the water surface was expanded, partly with a view to water storage in periods of high precipitation. That is necessary with the current climate change. When measured in 2019 the water quality in Buitenveldert turned out to be not really good. Amstel, Gooi and Vecht Water Board is trying to improve the water quality.
