3. Go east across the bridge behind the benches

Walk from Meeting island eastwards over the bridge. Do not go to Gelderlandplein. Take the footpath that starts behind the benches (photo 3).

When you are over the bridge you can go downstairs on the right side of the footpath to have a different view. On the left side you can see several gardens with plants and a large work of art that looks like a huge gong. It was made in 1969 by Theo Niermeijer and is called “The long hum”.
